Mali izviđači Zlatara već dvadesetak godina svakog prosinca u Beču preuzimaju Betlehemsko svjetlo mira i donose ga u Zlatar. Tako je bilo i ove godine, 10. prosinca, kada su svjetlo preuzeli u bečkoj ortodoksnoj crkvi. U Zlatar su ga donijeli 11. prosinca, na misno slavlje u crkvu Uznesenja Blažene Djevice Marije. A u srijedu, 21. prosinca, svjetlo su, sa svojom predsjednicom Martom Brlečić, donijeli i u Grad Zlatar, gdje ih je primio i pozdravio gradonačelnik Stanko Majdak. Izviđači su ga upoznali sa svojim boravkom u austrijskoj metropoli, naglasivši kako je dolazak Betlehemskog svjetla jedan prekrasan događaj i jedna poruka mira, ljubavi i zajedništva u iščekivanju radosti. Gradonačelnik im je zahvalio na njegovanju lijepe tradicije, kao i njihovoj voditeljici Svjetlani Mezak, jer to je jedino Betlehemsko svjetlo koje je izravno iz Beča stiglo na područje Krapinsko-zagorske županije. Inače, hrvatski izviđači svake godine odlaze po Betlehemsko svjetlo mira u Beč koje potom donose u Zagrebačku katedralu i dalje u brojne hrvatske župe kako bi poruka mira, solidarnosti i prijateljstva stigla u što veći broj domova i obitelji.
