U zlatarske osnovne škole u šk. godini 2017/18 u prvi razred krenulo je ukupno 56 prvašića.
U OŠ A. Kovačića Zlatar zajedno sa područnim školama Martinšćina i Donja Batina 47 učenika, dok u OŠ Belec s područnom školom Petruševec 9 učenika.
Gradonačelnica Grada Zlatara, Jasenka Auguštan-Pentek posjetila je navedene škole, te poželjela prvašićima puno uspjeha u stjecanju novih znanja, novih poznanstava i simpatija te njihovim učiteljicama predala poklon paket crtaćeg pribora za njihov razred.
