Danas, 2. prosinca 2014. godine župan Krapinsko zagorske županije Željko Kolar je s gradonačelnikom Grada Zlatara Stankom Majdakom, njegovom zamjenicom Jasenkom Auguštan Pentek, pročelnikom Jedinstvenog upravnog odjela Mladenom Krušeljom i ravnateljicom Pučkog otvorenog učilišta dr. Jurja Žerjavića Zlatar Gordanom Valjak obišao zgradu Sokolskog doma u Zlataru.
Prilikom posjeta je naglasio kako Sokolana, kao reprezentativan povijesni i kulturni objekt u ovom dijelu Zagorja zaslužuje da radovi napokon počnu i istaknuo važnost što su ovaj projekt prepoznale nadležne institucije, Vlada RH i Ministarstvo kulture.
Eventualna financijska pomoć od strane županije, može se naredne godine planirati u dijelu projektiranja, rekao je župan, jer je tu i projekt uređenja Trga slobode, a najvažnije je što uskoro kreće rekonstrukcija državne ceste D 29, napomenuo je župan. Ovih dana očekuje se i raspisivanje natječaja za etapu kroz Zlatar Bistricu, jer je važno da se paralelno rade D 29 i brza cesta, kako bi se istovremeno spojile na izlazu kod Zlatar Bistrice, zaključio je župan. Dodao je također kako su sva naslijeđena dugovanja grada prema županiji prolongirana i dalje, do 2016. godine, kako bi ta sredstva grad mogao usmjeriti na projektiranje.
